Every BIG solution starts small. By initiating nature:re, an environmental non-profit, we are committed to renewing our cities, oceans, and agricultural lands by taking small actionable steps towards regenerative farming and biodiversity on land and water.

Our Innovative Solution

Our Land Biodiversity Initiative works towards increasing the green cover across the country. To preserve eco-habitats and strengthen open spaces, we are creating a green corridor – a network of interconnected parks and open spaces in Mumbai and Pune. This green corridor will provide safe habitat for diverse wildlife, improve air quality, and offer cool spaces for people. These parks are being redesigned using ecological principles to create a biodiverse haven and showcase local art.

Moreover, as part of One Trillion Trees Pledge, we are also planting native tree species across our commercial hubs to increase the overall green cover.

Planted with the intention of large-scale environmental healing, Nature:re sprouted into existence.

As water resources dwindle, we’re restoring marine ecosystems and biodiversity. Over 2,200 to 3,000 million litres of sewage enter the Arabian Sea daily from Mumbai, with 25% remaining untreated. To cleanse the waters and revive marine biodiversity, we’ve installed 227 artificial reef in the Arabian Seas. It serves two main functions:

  • Enhance marine biodiversity by creating a healthy habitat for various marine life.
  • Support coastal communities by promoting fish population growth and restoration.

Making the waters a safe home to the native flora and fauna once again, this initiative is carried along with community partners.

We’ve made tangible strides in water conservation efforts. 20 farm ponds have been excavated, facilitating rainwater harvesting and restoring ground-water table. There has been a percolation of 56,720 cubic metres of water in 2023. These farm ponds are structured with precise dimensions and equipped with proper inlet and outlet structures to efficiently collect surface runoff from the farm area. Additionally, we’ve restored one community pond, enhancing water availability for the local community.

Healing India’s farmlands through regenerative agriculture.

Farmer partnership: Starting from Katol near Nagpur, we’re transforming conventional cotton farming by prioritising soil health and sustainability. Since 2021, we’ve partnered with 500+ cotton farmers, guiding them towards organic practices and providing comprehensive support at every stage. From seed selection to waste management, we ensure long-term success.

Trash to treasure: We leave no farm waste to go to trash. Our biodigesters turn animal waste into clean, renewable biogas, replacing firewood and creating a nutrient boost for the soil.

Certification: Our efforts go beyond technical guidance; we assist in organic certification and connect farmers to fair markets through our Artisan:re program
